How can words enhance visual art?
When are words text and when are they an image, and what is it like to create works that encompass both?
In this lunchtime talk to celebrate the launch of All My Country: the Batchelor Institute Art Collection, artists, writers and publishers come together for a wide-ranging conversation about image and text, and the joys and challenges of creating books about art. Published to commemorate Batchelor Institute's 50th anniversary, All My Country is the first substantive publication on the Institute’s unique and significant collection of around 1000 objects, with essays by Gary Lee, Chips Mackinolty, Joanna Barrkman, Pat Torres and others.
Featuring: Therese Ritchie, Petrit Abazi (Northern Centre for Contemporary Art) and Maurice O’Riordan (Batchelor Institute Press).
Facilitator: Wendy Ludwig.
Presented in partnership with Library & Archives NT and Batchelor Institute Press.
