Join children’s authors and illustrators at Kim’s Cubby for readings and activities designed to inspire a lifelong love of books and play.
In this special session to celebrate the release of Our Flag, Our Story, readers of all ages are invited to learn more about the history of the Torres Strait Islander flag. Hear from Bernard Namok Jnr, whose dad, Bernard Namok Senior, designed the flag you see today. Thomas Mayo and Bernard share from their new book, beautifully illustrated by Tori-Jay Mordey, and talk about the importance of the flag to their Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Kim’s Cubby is held in honour of Darwin children’s author Kim Caraher’s life and legacy.
