My highlight of the year was definitely visiting Kakadu back in July, and particularly the Yellow Water Billabong Cruise. The little boat gets you up close to all sorts of wetland creatures. These are Plumed whistling ducks enjoying the shade on a hot, dry day. They can be found in huge flocks well into the hundreds. Kaka-do go chasing waterfalls 📍Motor Car Falls, Kurrundie Falls & Boulder Creek, Kakadu National Park, NT 🥾8km return to Motor Car Falls, or 11km return if you walk on further past Motor Car Falls to Kurrundie Falls (it’s well worth it!!) The path to Kurrundie is much less well trodden (we actually got lost 😂) so an offline map is a good idea. It’s an absolute hidden gem (and one of our fave spots in Kakadu!)
